Maybe when the next phase of my life begins, I can start up an Amsterdam chapter of HollaBack. Believe me, it's necessary. For now, though, here's my shout out to this awesome organization.
The brilliant idea guiding HollaBack is that women aren't going to passively take harassment anymore from (usually) anonymous males. So now, when a belligerent male harasses a woman on the street, rather than silently seething and wishing she could disappear, instead she uses her phone to take a picture of him and post it online, along with the story of his despicable behavior. These sites are popping up all over the place. Check out the video.
Harassers, beware. It's about time we fought back.
