When life unbalances itself, sometimes certain aspects suffer. BbB the blog has been utterly silent while the woman behind BbB has been running around like a maniac.
There's another reason for my silence beyond recent busyness. Life over the past year has changed dramatically, and the person that started this blog is not the person that is now writing.
Oh, wait, it's still me. It's just that I live in Leiden now, not in Amsterdam. And for almost the first time in eight years, I don't live alone. Leiden plus not living alone has resulted in some other changes: Frequent trips to Spain, falling under the heading of "personal visits." And lots of other new experiences that I'll share, eventually.
Although I don't intend to discuss what I like to term the "personal mundane" or items that could fall under "professional career suicide," I'm tired of sneaking around. So I'm (somewhat) coming out in order to more openly discuss aspects of what I now call reality.
Almost six years ago I came to Europe for a brief international experience and have realized that observing life outside my comfort zone is a true passion. So much, in fact, it seems it will never go away. That's what this blog is primarily about: The expat-that-loves-to-travel experience dressed in fancy vocabulary, with the occasional pinch of feminist outrage, film and book reviews and random observations.
I'm back, because writing is fun.
